New Delhi: Panjab University will establish a new self-financed institution offering a five-year combined BBA-MBA programme. The suggestion was discussed during a meeting of the varsity's new course facilitation committee, which was presided over by the dean of university instruction.
The committee at Panjab University also talked about the idea of starting a physiotherapy bachelor's programme. Under anonymity, a committee member spoke to HT and said, "Sub-committees were also formed to look into the financial liabilities and practicality of these courses and submit their recommendations before a final call is taken."
120 Spots In The Combined BBA-MBA Programme
Some teachers also gave presentations on these courses. The BBA-MBA integrated course is proposed to have 120 seats annually, while the physiotherapy programme will be operational within the university's dental institute and have roughly 40 seats.
The Post Graduate Institute of Medical Science and Research is the only institution in Chandigarh that currently offers the physiotherapy course, while no other institution in the city offers the BBA-MBA integrated programme (PGIMER).
Despite the fact that the varsity has a few partially self-financed courses in operation since the early 2000s, not all of them have shown to be profitable in the long run.
PG Admissions At Panjab University
In the meantime, PU has made the decision to grant admission to postgraduate programmes for the academic year 2022–2023 to applicants in its associated institutions who have "reappeared" in no more than two papers (third to sixth semesters) at the undergraduate level.
This will nevertheless apply to courses whose entrance is not determined by the CET or OCET. According to the university's directive, if such applicants fail to pass the reappear topic at the UG level, they will not be promoted to the third semester of the programme.
