New Delhi: NIRF Ranking 2022 has been released by the education minister Dharmendra Pradhan today July 15 at 11 am. The NIRF India Ranking 2022 PDF can be viewed on the official website nirfindia.org.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has declared the 7th edition of the NIRF Ranking at a virtual event today nirfindia.org. The NIRF ranking 2022 lists under different categories such as engineering, medical, management, law and so on.
The Indian universities have been ranked under 11 categories. Last year, a new category, research institution, was introduced which made the total 11. The total number of institutions participating in the NIRF ranking in 2022 is 7,254, which is higher than the 6,272 participants last year.
According to the NIRF Indian Ranking 2022, IIT Madras has topped the position again as the best college in the overall category. It has also ranked the top position as the best engineering college. Delhi University's Miranda House was declared the best college in India.
IISc Bengaluru had last won the top spot in 2018 and was pushed to the second position by IIT Madras in 2019. However, it has been ranking first in NIRF university rankings for the last four years, consecutively.
The ranking of the Indian colleges and universities is based on teaching, learning and resources (TLR), research and professional practice (RP), graduation outcomes (GO), outreach and inclusivity (OI), and peer perception. Apart from these six parameters, there are about 16 to 18 sub-parameters used for ranking the institutions in different categories.
AIIMS Delhi has topped the position among the medical colleges in India. While in the Management colleges, IIM Ahmedabad has been ranked at the top. Jamia Hamdard University, Delhi has ranked first in the Pharmacy category. In the Architecture category, IIT Roorkee has taken the position. The National Law School of India University, Bengaluru has been declared the best law college in India.

Before the NIRF ranking 2022 release, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was quoted, "Quality education should be prioritised".
Talking about the credibility of NIRF ranking 2022, Anil Kumar Nassa, the Member Secretary of the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) says, "Over the years we have attained credibility and we have seen the response increasing year by year. Our parameters are aligned towards the international ranking system." NIRF ranking is an India-centric parameter.
