NEST 2020 result has been released on October 13, 2020, on the official exam portal of NEST 2020 (nestexam.in). As per the notification released earlier by the exam authority, the result was scheduled to be released on October 12, 2020.  However, due to technical difficulties, the result declaration has been delayed and is now available at the official website. NEST 2020 is a qualifying entrance examination jointly held by the University of Mumbai-Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS) and NISER Bhubaneswar. 

Earlier, National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar, and CEB-DAE Mumbai has conducted NEST 2020 exam on September 29, 2020

.NEST 2020: How to Check Result

Aspirants who appeared on the NEST 2020 Examination, can easily view their results by following the steps mentioned here.

Step 1: Open the official website of NEST 2020: nestexam.in

Step 2: Click on the link saying ‘NEST 2020 Result’

Step 3: Enter the Registration ID and Password

Step 4: In case you have forgotten the password, click on the Forgot Password’ option and you will receive your password reset link on your registered mobile number

Step 5: View the result and Download the E-Copy for future counselling purpose

NEST 2020: Cut Off Score

The NEST cut-off is set depending upon the percentile score achieved by all the students. Kindly refer to the following table to know about the same.

NEST 2020:Tie Breaking Rules

Aspirants must know the Tie-Breaking rules of the National Entrance Screening Test 2020.

Rules are as follows:

• In case two candidates scoring the same, the candidate scoring higher marks in the general section will be considered first.
• If the situation prevails, the marks scored in each section will be considered. 
• Thirdly, the intermediate marks scored by the candidates will be considered.

The NISER and CEBS have released their tentative vacancies for each category of students. These are as follows:

NEST 2020: Score Card Details 

The NEST 2020 scorecard of each candidate must include the following information.

• Date of Examination
• Name
• Registration Number
• Photograph
• Date of Birth
• Percentile
• Score, Rank
• Sectional Cut off marks

NEST 2020: Preparation of Merit List 

The merit list will be prepared following the below-mentioned rules. Total marks of 180 will be calculated as per the marks obtained in the general section and the best of three subjects.

The Section-Wise Minimum Admissible Score (SMAS) is 20% of the average of the best 100 scores in that section. NISER will consider SMAS of 4 subjects, CEBS will consider any 3. 

The NISER and CEBS will publish their separate merit lists. The dates of NEST 2020 Counselling and Admission will be published after the merit list publication.
