October 6, 2020: Mumbai University conducted its final year examination on October 5, 2020, in which 95% of total candidates appear for the examination. Many students reported glitches in the examination process such as delay in log-in and failed login attempts. 

Despite the glitches, the Mumbai University (MU) final year examination took place for 2019-2020 batches in most colleges in Mumbai. 

Less than 2000 students who failed to appear for examination due to technical glitches will have the chance to appear for the rescheduled examination later this year.

Mumbai University Exam: Serval Glitches Appeared During Final Year Examination

A student who appeared on the examination of MU on October 5 said, "The website was not uploading for some time. For some, the page crashed after half an hour of logging in, when they were verifying details. Many of us could not start the exam at 11 am, but we were given extra time,” 

A principal of Mumbai University (MU) affiliated college said, “There were delays in the beginning. Most kept losing the network. On re-logging, they got different questions. Eventually, all were allowed to give the exams. We could take the exam for more than 1,000 students today”. 

“Students need to strictly follow certain things. As more than 60% of students are taking the exams on mobile phones, they have to be extra careful, even pressing the back button logs you off from the exam". they added.

Mumbai University Exam: Rescheduled Final Year Examination to be Conducted Soon

A total of 73,314 students registered for the final year examination from different affiliated colleges of Mumbai, out of which only 71, 729 appeared for the examination. 

As to the Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL), a total of 1,283 students registered for the examination, of which 1,580 appeared for the exam.

Rest 2000 or fewer students who couldn’t appear for the examination due to technical issues and glitches will now have the chance to appear for the rescheduled examination. 

The schedule for the later examination is yet to be announced by the exam authority of Mumbai university.

Mumbai University Exam: Student Helpline Numbers Available for IDOL and MU Candidates

Mumbai university also provided students with helpline numbers to reach out in case of technical issues. 

The helpline numbers provided for IDOL Students are’; 9619486265, 9619536829, 9619713348 while Mumbai University students can reach out for help at 022-26532034.

According to the activist student Santosh Gangurde, the candidates were unable to get any help through the helplines.
