New Delhi: Lovely Professional University (LPU) and Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) have concluded a Memorandum of understanding (MoU). The ceremony was held on the Lovely Professional University campus.
As a result of the agreed MoU, a customised training programme was carried out at LPU with ICSI's support and oversight. For the LPU research scholars, students, and faculty members who had mutually agreed upon interests in particular fields, LPU developed a programme.
LPU participated in the event by giving its chosen faculty members a chance to assist in the training sessions by serving as the workshop's resource people. The opportunity and potential of starting a new MBA Course in Legal Affairs & Governance were both examined by ICSI and LPU. Another goal is to support CS students pursuing a PhD at LPU.
The President of ICSI, CS Makarand Lele, requested that Lovely Professional University recognise the Company Secretary (CS) course as equivalent to a postgraduate degree before signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), particularly for those individuals interested in pursuing a PhD from LPU.
He added credence to his claim that the institute encourages students to participate in more research activities and provides its students with a fully developed Research and Academic Wing. In addition, he said that 56 colleges around the country have already accepted computer science as a degree acceptable for PhD pursuits.
Also present at the MoU signing ceremony were dignitaries from the two institutions. ICSI officials, including the secretary, CS Ashok K. Dixit, CS Dinesh Gupta, CS Satwinder Singh, CS Aman Setia, CS Prof. Vijay Gupta, and CS Pallavi, attended the ceremony.
In contrast, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Dr Ramesh Kanwar, Executive Dean, Dr Sanjay Modi, and Dr Ramesh Thakur were important figures from LPU. Provosts Mrs Rashmi Mittal and Dr Ramesh Kanwar were Executive Deans.
Two programmes have been planned as joint cooperative initiatives under the signed MoU for ICSI and LPU: "Training of Trainers" and "Teacher Congruence." Students who want to pursue a PhD at LPU will benefit from the MoU by being excused from university courses like corporate governance.
ICSI is a statutory professional organisation that falls under the purview of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs of the Government of India, with the slogan "Speak the Truth, Abide by Law."
It has four regional offices in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai, as well as more than 3,000,000 students, enrolled in its CS programme, with the purpose of promoting, supervising, and expanding the field of corporate secretaries in India.
