KTU (Kerala Technological University) is all set to conduct its B.tech final year examination through online mode. The same has been accepted by the candidates appearing for the exams. This decision was actually made by the academic committee.
Through a video conferencing, it was earlier decided by the KTU authorities to conduct Btech final semester exams. It is because this serious matter was causing trouble for thousands of students, especially for those who received campus placements.
Now as per the recent reports, the exams will be conducted under strict supervision of the individual institutions. Candidates will be able to appear for the exams from the comfort of their respective homes.
Accordingly, they would have to attempt a set of questions within the stipulated time. It has also been notified by the Higher Education Authorities regarding the scores obtained by the candidates.
They claimed that the marks secured in online exams are subjected to normalisation processes. Further, these marks would be compared with the past results of the candidates. Wholly, the detailed procedure will be updated to the candidates as soon as possible.
As per the recent UGC guidelines, all the junior semester candidates will be awarded marks on the basis of their past results. But in case a candidate feels to have been assessed poorly may feel free to cancel the and reappear for the exams in the month of September.
However, on July 12, KTU announced to cancel the Intermediate semester examination. The second semester candidates may get a chance to improve their grades in any 2 subjects.
VC, MS Rajasree claimed regarding the emergency arrangements being made in case of any further delay in exams as it will however affect the career prospects and the golden chances of the higher studies for a large number of university candidates.
Moreover, supplementary exams will also be conducted till date due to COVID-19 pandemic prevailing across the country.
