Krea University: Ramkumar Ramamoorthy, former chairman & managing director of Cognizant (India) is ready to join Krea University as its first Pro-Vice-Chancellor in January 2021.
A press release stated that Ramkumar would be responsible for professional learning as the first Pro-Vice-Chancellor at Krea University. Ramkumar would help function the long-term strategy of the University for its professional programmes across MBA, executive education, which would add significant value to businesses and individuals.

The release stated that Ramkumar while being a part of the core leadership team, will help strengthen the University’s vision of being a teaching and research University that defines global benchmarks.
The Vice-chancellor of Krea University, Dr. Sunder Ramaswamy stated that Ramkumar will bring to Krea a rare combination of three decades of academic, professional, and industry experience along with him.
He said that his deep appreciation of structural shifts across industries and newer models of learning would be a great asset to Krea.
Ramkumar on taking up the fresh responsibility said that he is very enthusiastic to be a part of the Krea team and he strongly believes in the broader perspective of assisting humanity prepare for an unpredictable world.

He added that he is confident that with the rich heritage of Graduate Business School, Krea will pioneer an interwoven learning model and a strong legacy of core values will enable the alumni of the University to confidently embrace the future.
Ramkumar has experience of over 30 years in the information technology industry and academia. He has held more than half a dozen portfolios and various leadership positions including that of an executive director, India, and chief knowledge officer.
Ramkumar was previously associated with Tata Consultancy Services, and also Chennai Mathematics Institute, one of the premier institutions of excellence for teaching and research in computer science, data science, and mathematics.
He was also the president of the century-old Madras Chamber of Commerce and Industry and was also the former Vice-Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce. The governing council of the Krea University comprises iconic industrialist Anand Mahindra, industrialist Sajjan Jindal, and former RBI Governor Raghuram Rajan.
The University is the home to two schools (graduate school of business, and school of interwoven arts & sciences). The University provides strategic oversight to three research centres.
