New Delhi: Kirori Mal College, DU has joined hands with the ‘National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People (NCPEDP)’ and has launched an online certificate course on Disability Research.
The Centre for Disability Research and Training, Kirori Mal College, DU, has launched the certificate course titled “An Introduction to Disability Research: A Legal and Social Studies Perspective”.
Spread over 9 weeks with 3 classes every week, the certificate course is a two-credit course, which has been specially designed for the students to conveniently accommodate it with their regular classes.
KMC Certificate Course on Disability Research: Eligibility Criteria
All students and research scholars pursuing their undergraduate or postgraduate courses are eligible for admission to Kirori Mal's certificate course provided that they have a valid pass certificate.
The college has designed the course with an aim to sensitize society to the requirements and concerns of persons with disabilities and build a more inclusive and accessible world for all in keeping with disability laws and their relevant concepts.
The course will assist the participants to understand the intervention framework, research – writing, and advocacy mechanisms with a special focus on persons with disabilities.
Earlier, in 2021, Kirori Mal College, had launched an initiative to assist visually-challenged students in pursuing higher education.
The initiative was titled Aarohan, which was introduced in collaboration with an NGO called Saksham. The college will provide assistance devices to the visually-challenged students with low vision.
