According to reports, around 25,000 medical students participated in the Twitter campaign after which a delegation of AIDSO Karnataka met with the Vice-Chancellor of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences to submit a memorandum demanding the postponement of the examinations.

While speaking about the postponement of the examination Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences Vice-Chancellor Dr S Sacchidanand informed that the postponement of the exams will be based on the guidelines provided by the National Medical Commission.

Following which, he pointed out that not all the students were against the exams in January and the delay in the examinations will have an effect on the academic calendar.

Dr S Sacchidanand told that there is a division between batches and exams have been conducted for the odd batches because interns are required to join as soon as possible. Students from the odd batches are those who have back papers.
