44% of students skipped the first day of exams of JEE Main April session that was finally held on September 1, 2020.

A total of 3,040 students registered for Paper-2 (B.Arch) and Paper-3 (B.Planning) in Gujarat. Out of them, 1,664 (55%) attended the exams while others chose to stay home.

As per JEE Coordinator, Gujarat, Virendra Ravat, at least 25%-30% of students skip exams every year, but current year’s figures have gone up by 10-15%.

He added, “On the first day, out of 3,020 registered students, only 1,664, or 55%, remained present, while 1,356 (45%) did not turn up.”

After a spate of discourse on postponing or conducting JEE Main 2020, the exams ultimately began on September 1. This year, exams are being held in computer-based mode across 660 exam centres in the country from 1-6 September 2020.

JEE Main is scheduled to take place in two shifts, the morning shift from 9 AM to 12 PM while evening shift from 3 PM to 6 PM.
