New Delhi: IIT Palakkad is offering a 12-week online free artificial intelligence course. The programme will be held on its NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) platform. 

IIT Palakkad has organised the online artificial intelligence course and named it Applied Accelerated Artificial Intelligence. The course will cover the fundamentals of computing capabilities. It will also enlighten the basics of system software necessary to implement AI-based solutions in industry-based cases. These are for domains like healthcare and Smart City. 

The course will further address the end-to-end deployment of two industrial use cases by demonstrating, and helping participants use state-of-the-art AI Software Development Kits effectively to solve complex problems. 

It will cover topics like introduction to AI System Hardware, introduction to AI Accelerators GPUs, introduction to Containers and IDE, and introduction to System Software Operating System, Virtualisation, and Cloud, among others.

IIT Palakkad Free Artificial Intelligence Admission 2022: Highlights 

Professor Satyadhyan Chickerur, head of the Centre for High-Performance Computing at KLE Technological University, Hubli; professor Bharatkumar Sharma, a senior solutions architect at Nvidia; professor Tosin Adesuyi, from the Department of Computer and Software Engineering, Kumoh National Institute of Technology; professor Satyajit Das, Assistant Professor in the department of computer science and engineering, IIT Palakkad; and, professor Ashrut Ambastha, principal engineer at Nvidia will conduct the Artificial Intelligence course. 

Also, admission to IIT Palakkad has begun for the academic year 2022-2023. Candidates can visit the official website iitpkd.ac.in and check for updates regarding admission notifications and further information. 

IIT Palakkad Free Artificial Intelligence Admission 2022: Eligibility Criteria 

To be eligible for the course, candidates must have prior knowledge of computer organisation, high-performance computing, machine learning, and deep learning. 

Candidates who can attend the course are the following: 

• PhD scholars and Postgraduate students from any stream of science or engineering 
• Third and Fourth-year Undergraduate students from any stream of engineering
• Working Professionals. 

The AI course will carry 3 credit points. Candidates who want a certificate shall have to appear for an exam and pay a fee of 1000 INR. Students who successfully complete the exam will be given a certificate with the NPTEL and IIT Madras logos on it.
