New Delhi: IISER Thiruvananthapuram has recently launched a five-year bachelor and master of science (BS-MS) flagship programme called the Integrated and Interdisciplinary Sciences Programme (i2Sc) for interested students.
As per IISER Thiruvananthapuram, after completing the two-year common foundation course, students will have the option to choose from one of five advanced courses in key disciplines, with the fifth year culminating in a one-year research project under this program.
The foundation of each of the five streams is a fundamental discipline that is linked to certain theme areas. These streams are designed to give students training in research as well as analytical and cognitive skills depending on the curriculum.
Through this course, students will be introduced to subjects like scientific communication, intellectual property rights (IPR), entrepreneurship, and ethics among others.
The IISER Thiruvananthapuram program is in line with the National Education Policy and aims to generate a large pool of competent and experienced graduates who will be qualified to pursue research on difficult and complicated scientific issues of current interest.
