New Delhi: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) applications are ongoing for the undergraduate and postgraduate level degree programmes for the academic session January 2023-24 and the last date has been extended till March 31. Aspiring candidates can submit the online application form through the official portal, @http://www.ignou.ac.in/.


 

IGNOU  offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in various specialisations. The programmes are BA, MA, MBA, BAG, BSc, and PhD. Candidates seeking admission to these programmes can  now submit their applications till March 31, 2023. 

The institute has opened the application for the January 2023 Session. The UGC-approved university follows online, and offline modes to offer admission in the respected program at undergraduate, and postgraduate levels.

Admission to the UG degree, PG degree, certificate, and diploma programs is typically based on the performance of the qualifying exam. Admission to the BEd degree program however is granted on the valid scores of entrance exams.

The institute offers B.A, B.B.A, B.Lib, B.com, etc, at undergraduate level, whereas MA, MBA, M.Phil, Mlis, etc, are offered at postgraduate level. 

IGNOU UG & PG Admission 2023-24: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates seeking admission to the IGNOU programmes will have to meet the requisite eligibility criteria. 

    • BA, B.Com and B.Sc: candidates must have passed 10+2 with the relevant subjects from a recognized board. 
    • B.LIS course: Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% marks. Students who have either a diploma or two years of working experience in the library field, along with an undergraduate degree, are eligible to apply for B.LIS.
    • MA, M.Com, and M.Sc: Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or higher from a standard university. 
  • PhD: Candidates must have obtained a minimum of 55% marks in Masters or M.Phil degree. Also, IGNOU takes entrance examination for admission to PhD programs. 
  • Diploma: Students who have passed intermediate with 50% aggregate are eligible to apply. Graduates who are willing to join diploma programs can also eligible. 
  • B.Ed course: Students who have done Bachelor’s from any discipline are eligible to apply for B.Ed. Along with a bachelor’s degree, aspirants must have to sit for the entrance examination to get shortlisted for B.Ed admission.

IGNOU UG & PG Admission 2023-24: Selection Process

  • Candidate's selection to the UG and PG programmes will be done based on the merit in the last qualifying examination. However, for some of the courses, the institute will grant admissions depending upon the score in the entrance exams. 
  • Admission to the UG courses is done on the basis of merit in the class 12 examination.
  • Admission to the PG courses is solely done on the basis of merit in the qualifying degree.
  • IGNOU conducts its own entrance test for admission to MBA, B.Ed, M.Ed, M.Ed, Post Basic B.Sc, Nursing, M.Phil, and Ph.D. programs. Aspirants must appear for the entrance examination for respective programs. Those who qualify the entrance exam may need to appear for a personal interview round for the final selection.

Step 1: Visit the official application portal of IGNOU @http://www.ignou.ac.in/ . 

Step 2: Register yourself after filling the required details, such as Mobile number, Email Id etc.

Step 3: Now, login with your registration credentials and fill all details in the Application form.

Step 4: Pay the application fee and submit the Application form. 

Step 5: Applicants must also take a print out of the form for all future needs.
