FLAME University, Pune has launched an optional 4-year undergraduate honours programme, postgraduate, and doctoral programmes for the students.
With the introduction of the 4-year UG course at FLAME University, the students have the opportunity to continue their undergraduate degree for a fourth year that will mainly focus on project-based interdisciplinary learning, which will earn them an honours degree.
Recently, the university also introduced some postgraduate and doctoral level programmes in different areas including Data science & economics, design management, computer science and science, which increased the total number of major offerings from 21 to 24.
Now, the students have the chance to opt for minors in computer science and philosophy. The university offers more than 350 major-minor combinations.
Further, the university also launched an MSc programme in Economics and a PhD programme in areas like psychology, economics, data science, and management.
In addition to the existing FLAME school of liberal education, FLAME school of communication, FLAME school of design, art, and performance, and FLAME School of Business, the university established a separate school for data sciences and computing.
Talking about the academic expansion, Dishan Kamdar, Vice-Chancellor, FLAME University, said that it's imperative for educational institutions to understand the aspirations of students, and their requirements, which changes when they reach higher education. As a result, the education institution should model their programmes accordingly.
Further, he said that the new addition to FLAME University’s academic offerings reflects the university's objective of educating and equipping the future generations with requisite skills and knowledge that fosters creativity, nurtures imagination, and an innovative mind-set that will inspire them to discover their own career goals. In contrast, this process enables the university to contribute to building, and shaping the future of the country.
