Delhi University Admission 2022-23 Through CUET for UG Courses

Until last year, the criteria of Delhi University Admission included cut-off marks in the class 12th board examination. Based on the candidate's marks in the board examination and the availability of admission seats, the final selection was made for admission seats.

However, with the release of the new admission policy, admission criteria will be determined by the result of candidates in results of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). This step has been taken to offer equal admission opportunities to students of various exam boards.

Candidates who wish to apply for DU UG Course 2022 are now required to appear for CUET in a maximum of six subjects. Out of the total subjects, one subject must be a language subject. The best score of the candidate will be considered for the admission process.

Following the policies of DU UG Admission 2022, the candidate will appear in CUET for only those subjects which they have opted for in class 12th exam. The merit list will further be prepared based on the combination of subjects for which students have appeared in the entrance test.

As for the last section of the CUET 2022 Exam, students will be asked questions based on General Knowledge. The question will be added for admission to the BA Program only.

“For admission to Bachelor of Arts, a candidate will have to appear in the entrance test in any one language from section one and in any three subjects from the other section. Merit will be calculated on the basis of marks obtained by the candidate in the same subject and language,” said Gandhi.

“For admission through Sports and Extracurricular Activities (ECA), a candidate will have to appear for a performance-based test along with the CUET. Merit for this will be made on the basis of the combined score of CUET (25%) and performance-based test (75%),” he said.

Candidates applying for science stream programs must note that their eligibility criteria for admission will be calculated based on marks secured in the big three subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Biology. 30% of marks will be calculated based on scores in the language subjects.
