Dravidar Kazhagam (DK) has approached the Madras High Court to quash PG NEET 2020 results as illegal and arbitrary.
The DK organisation wanted the court to direct the government to implement a 50% reservation of seats for OBC surrendered by the state.
Political parties like DMK and PMK have already approached the Supreme Court to implead themselves in a pending batch of cases. However Dravidar Kazhagam has chosen to challenge it afresh before the High Court.
Every state surrenders 50% of the seats in PG medical courses and 15% of seats in UG medical courses to All India Quota (AIQ).
For the current academic year, about 7,981 PG medical seats have been surrendered by the states to the Union government for admission under AIQ.
As stated by DK, reservation was made only for SC/ST quotas and the 50% reservation available for OBCs has not been implemented. Thus, consider the PG NEET 2020 result illegal.
The seats which should be allotted to OBCs are being allotted to general category candidates unjustly without any sanction and in gross violation of Article 15(5) of the Constitution.
