November 24, 2021: Digital University Kerala, DUK has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Kerala to work jointly on education and research fields. 

Under this ten-year collaboration between one of the oldest and youngest universities of Kerala, Digital University Kerala, DUK, and KU, both parties will jointly set up new opportunities for students in various educational fields.

Referring to the initiative, DUK officials said, "This mutual cooperation will also help in widening the scope of courses, support creation of platforms for innovations, and will ensure greater opportunities for students and researchers”.

DUK and the University of Kerala will further work together towards various collaborative projects and will engage in mutually beneficial research and development. Furthermore, the universities will also jointly work in the Data Science and Technology Management domain

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by DUK Registrar P Suresh Babu and KU Registrar K S Anil Kumar during an event held on Monday, November 22, 2021.

The collaboration agreement was signed in the presence of Vice-Chancellors Dr. Saji Gopinath and Dr. V P Mahadevan Pillai of Digital University Kerala and the University of Kerala respectively.

Referring to the collaboration, Dr. Saji Gopinath, Vice-Chancellor of DUK stated that with this MoU, both universities will engage in various exchange programs. The exchange program will include the exchange of researchers, faculty, technical faculty, and students of DUKE and KU.

The Vice-Chancellor further added that the Digital University of Kerala will also work with various departments of Kerala University to offer students with facilities like optoelectronics, futures studies, environmental sciences, geology, communication, and journalism among others. 

Kerala University Courses 2021 

Under this collaboration, the Digital University Kerala, DUK will offer its expertise in the latest technologies, and Kerala University will make use of its wide range of departments offering technical and non-technical courses in joint programs. 

The MoU aims to offer development in course curriculum and areas of mutual interest of DUK as well as the University of Kerala. Students will be presented with skill sets that will change the employment scenario.
