Faculty of Law, Delhi University has aksed first and second-year students to submit a 1000 word article each for five subjects in a timespan of just seven days.

While the directive for the same has been released by Delhi University, Faculty of Law,  it has been seen that students have not welcomed it very well.

As per the directive by Bar Council of India, though the assignments are not going to affect their marks, students are still supposed to submit them. While the exams for these subjects will be conducted later.

On the other hand, students are unhappy with the decision made by the Delhi University and also for informing them at the last moment.

Meanwhile, the student union of the campus law centre has questioned the need for the assignments when exams are to be conducted later.

"The notification released on Thursday states that the assignments will neither be marked nor affect the percentage. Exams for the respective subjects will be conducted later when possible. In such a scenario, asking the students to submit the assignments makes little sense," said Shivank Trivedi, vice-president of the student union.

Students Reaction on the Decision

The reaction of the students for the decision made by the council has not been very positive as they have been informed at the last moment.

Many students have also said expressed that the online method of submission is not really feasible for the majority of students.

Following this. Students also wrote a letter which highlighted the struggle of a large number of students.

“There are states in the country that are hit by floods and a few other still do not have internet connectivity above 2G,” said the letter.

Students also stated that it is unjustified to expect the students to submit assignments online within such a short period of time.
