Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technology University (DBATU) has announced a Major-Minor degree program for students pursuing Bachelor of Technology as a major reform from the academic year 2020-21.
The Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technology University (DBATU), has become first of its kind in the State to have such a facility, said Nilesh Patil, executive council member of DBATU. Very few universities offer such a program in the country, he added.
Patil asserted that students get to study two degrees with the program. While they can continue securing a Major degree in BTech, they can also opt for any minor program. Students who could not opt for their desired degree subject can also opt for the same as a minor program.
This will be a major boost when it comes to employability. While a student can opt for mechanical engineering as a major degree, the same student can go for computer engineering as minor, added Patil, who also happens to be the principal of MIT.
