Anant National University's Anant Centre for Sustainability has established two new executive education programs: a week-long certificate course in "creating economical living" and a year-long course named "entrepreneurs in residence.

AnantU will commence the classes for both programs in February 2022 and applicants may apply until February 10, 2022.

This is the first certificate program introduced by AnantU in designing affordable living. According to a press release from the university, the week-long course will begin on March 4, 2022.

The course teaches 30 students how to start a business that innovates, develops, and sells low-cost living items. The course provides information about numerous materials used in the design of low-cost living products, with a focus on the features of laminated corrugated cardboard, a low-cost material.

By the end of the course, students will build product prototypes, boosting learning by merging principles and applications. Students will next learn how to position, pitch, and advertise their products during the course.

Along with the certificate program, Anant National University announced the EIR program, a one-of-a-kind year-long structured support course for start-ups and entrepreneurs in affordable housing, building construction, research, real estate, design, and prop-tech spaces, according to the varsity.

Every year, three chosen entrepreneurs have the opportunity to take advantage of the unique ecosystem provided by the university and its partners.

Entrepreneurs will receive help and direction from industry mentors and subject matter experts at the university and its affiliate organisations as they enhance and promote their products and services.

The program provides physical infrastructure such as a cutting-edge maker space, library, and working spaces, as well as vast industry knowledge and a pool of academics, researchers, and students available at AnantU.

Through one-on-one mentorship sessions and workshops, the EIR program has teamed with the Brigade REAP accelerator to enable entrepreneurs in the program to have access to Brigade's broad network, ecosystem, and funding alternatives.

AnantU Admission 2022

Commenting on the announcement of the two new executive education programs, Dr Miniya Chatterji, director of the Anant Center for Sustainability and CEO Sustain Labs said, "AnantU's offering of executive education courses in the field of sustainability fills a critical skills gap of entrepreneurial abilities to create scalable solutions for affordable living."

He further stated, "In high school, we don't learn about inequality or how to solve it, making it difficult for entrepreneurs to create goods, services, and business models that are incentivized to create a more equitable society. To fill these gaps, the Designing Affordable Living course and the Entrepreneurs in Residence program are also available."
