New Delhi: Ambedkar University, Delhi (AUD) announced today, on April 7, 2022 that it will open 2 New Campuses in Delhi, one in Dheerpur and the other in Sector 3 Rohini in the coming few years.
Ambedkar University will vacate Lodhi Road & Kashmere Gate premises and shift to the newly built campuses once they are ready. Currently, the university has three campuses with around 4,000 students and finds space as a hindrance to start new courses. However, it will add new courses & schools, from this session or the next.

During a press conference, Anu Singh Lather, Vice-Chancellor, AUD said, “For AUD, space is the biggest constraint. If we get two more campuses, we are willing to take in 30,000 students,”.
"The university has been allotted 4.95 acres in Dheerpur & 20 acres in Sector 3 Rohini. We have the design ready for the campuses with all government clearances. Earlier there was delay in environment clearances but it has been approved now. It just needs a Cabinet Note for the final approval. We are receiving all the support from the government,” added Lather.
She also said that during the last 2 years, the Deputy CM of Delhi, Manish Sisodia has conducted several rounds of meetings to expedite the whole process.
Ambedkar University Courses and Fees
Telling about the launch of New courses, Lather said, "The university is planning to have a major expansion in UG courses. We have a mission to create AUD, a research university. As per NEP 2020, our focus will be on multidisciplinary aspects.”
ADU is planning to start new departments and schools that includes the School of Public Policy with a Master's programme in Public Policy, School of Media Studies, School of Philosophy and Religious Studies, School of Mathematics, Statistics and Data Sciences and many more.
“We would like to venture into many more ideas within the aspect of NEP. We also have plans to introduce certificate courses in AI with online or blended teaching,” said Lather.
