Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) and Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti Language University (KMCLU) will conduct their exams for their final-year students in the last week of September 2020.
Also, the two universities reduced exam duration from three hours to two.
AKTU's final year students will be appearing for a multiple choice question-based examination for the first time since its establishment over 20 years ago.
Around 60,000 students from AKTU will appear for the objective type exams that would take place from September 01-05, 2020.
"Our students have received job offers and require a degree at the earliest opportunity. Therefore, we decided to go for an OMR sheet MCQ-based examination. It will also speed up the evaluation process and ensure that results are declared on time, "said Prof Vinay Kumar Pathak, vice-chancellor of AKTU.
He said the examination of final year students' carryover papers will also be done along with the regular examinations.
"The students will have to attempt 75 questions in the two-hour exam. Examinations of all three subjects of course in engineering will take place on one day. The MBA and BPharma exams will take place in two days time. The exams will take place in three shifts,' added Pathak.
Meanwhile, roughly 600 students from KMCLU will appear instead of three for two-hour exams.
The varsity will conduct the examinations from September 01-05, 2020.
"We'll reduce the duration of the exam as well as the number of questions to be answered. Earlier, a question paper contained four units and it was compulsory for a student to attempt one 10-mark question from each unit. Now students will have to try two questions from the four units, each carrying 20 marks, "KMCLU vice-chancellor Prof Mahrukh Mirza said.
He said the short answer section, which is compulsory for all students, won't change. The sections contain six 5 mark questions each.
