Philosophy can be studied as one of two subjects as part of the combinatorial Bachelor of Arts (BA) course at the University of Wuppertal. By studying, they acquire basic scientific skills. Students learn:

- to put own experiences in correct and clear terms,
- to think in correct categories
- to be mentally thorough, creative and flexible,
