Profiling in the areas of health and economy has been a central area of ​​activity for the Bergische Universität Wuppertal for several years. A first step towards stronger cooperation between the key areas of economics and health science was taken by founding the Bergische Competence Center for Health Management and Public Health (BKG). The BKG is the result of a forward-looking cooperation between companies and institutions from the regional health industry and the Bergische Universität Wuppertal.
