• Mathematics is man's answer to the complexity of nature. Through them, we can both understand complex processes better and make well-founded predictions. Often we are not aware of how much mathematics surrounds us in everyday life, e.g. in the cell phone, in the car, on CDs, in the weather forecast.
  • Mathematics does not convey views that require interpretation. It builds on generally accepted statements (axioms) and logical conclusions.
  • During the course, a feel for the essentials is developed. This is accompanied by the development of the ability to apply mathematical methods and structured thinking to complex problems.
