The philosophy at Saarland University is committed to the analytical tradition of philosophy as well as an interdisciplinary approach which, in addition to other humanities disciplines, also takes into account areas such as the natural and social sciences, mathematics and other specialist sciences. The interdisciplinary approach takes into account the fact that a whole series of philosophical questions related to subjects for which other scientific disciplines have been able to achieve philosophically usable results to a considerable extent.
