Each year, 75 students from more than 30 countries come to the Europa-Institut for the one-year Master's program in European and international law. The program awards the title Master of Laws (LL.M.) and combines a practice-oriented approach with excellence in academic teaching. Highly qualified lecturers prepare the students of the Masters program for the specific demands of the European and international job market.
The program can be completed entirely in English, entirely in German or in a combination of both languages. It is divided into a nine-month study program, followed by a three-month period for the drafting of the Master's thesis. Five specialization study units are offered: Module 1 European Integration and Modules 2 to 5 with the study units European Economic Law, Foreign Trade and Investment, International Dispute Resolution and European and International Protection of Human Rights offer a high degree of specialization in quickly expanding professional fields within European and international law. With its unique mixture of lectures, seminars, interactive exercises, moot courts, language courses, communication skills training and discussions, the program ideally combines theoretical knowledge and practical application.
