- The master's degree in history is divided into an orientation phase in the first year of study (elective area A and elective area B and the complement module) with 60 credit points and a specialization phase in the second year (specialization area and concept module, internship, final module) with 60 credit points as well. In the first year of study, two modules are to be chosen from each of the two compulsory elective areas.
- For the specialization area in the second year of study, another module from the compulsory elective area A or B must be selected.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
- Students must have a qualifying first degree in history or another course with at least 60 credits in history, and a minimum grade of 2.5.
- Students must have level B2 English (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ??/ CEFR).
- Students must also have knowledge of another modern foreign language at the CEFR B1 level, as well as basic knowledge of Latin corresponding to at least 90 hours of effective learning.
- Applicants from outside Germany must provide evidence of German language skills at the C1 level (CEFR).
