Economics teaches to investigate and solve economic problems systematically and on a solid methodical basis, i.e. scientifically. While the individual company is at the center of interest in business administration, economics is about understanding the interaction of individuals and companies, explaining the overall economic situation and assessing the scope of economic policy. In studying international economics, the Institute for Economics and Econometrics bundles its own competence in the field of countries in Central and Eastern Europe with the offer of other faculties and thus fits into this interdisciplinary focus of the University of Regensburg.
