Information science deals with information systems and the information processes triggered or supported by them. Information science takes into account all aspects of the information process, e.g. cognitive, economic, social and political. In order to work on its subject area, information science, therefore, uses theories of the sub-disciplines of the social and human sciences on the one hand and natural and engineering sciences on the other.
