Students are trained as scientists at the interface between biology and medicine. Stays abroad are particularly desirable in the 5th semester. The training does not enable them to practice the medical profession. Current biomedical research needs young scientists who are familiar with the latest methods and techniques in biology and biochemistry and who also have broad medical knowledge. The goal of her training is to research the complex molecular causes of human diseases. If one understands these causes better, new procedures can be developed to diagnose and treat the diseases precisely.
