The prerequisite for the degree is a first professional qualification with a standard period of study of at least six semesters, which must include a media component of at least 90 CP, whereby the practical media component may not exceed 60 CP. The degree must include the following competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of models in media theory and history as well as their application
- In-depth knowledge of media-aesthetic criteria and their application
- In-depth knowledge of the social, economic and institutional dimension of the media.
