• The subject of English-language literature and culture combines literary and cultural studies content with references to professional practice, for example through an internship abroad, leading a tutorial for a BA event or working on ongoing research projects. The students deal with a wide range of genres of English-language works from the Middle Ages to contemporary British and American literature as well as other Anglophone literatures. 
  • This combines a strong cultural-scientific focus with topics such as popular culture, gender or political rhetoric and the respective historical backgrounds. The critical analysis of texts and visual media (photography, film, television, comics) plays a central role, and literary texts are always read from a cultural studies perspective.
