The Master's program in Media Informatics is a consecutive course of studies that builds on a Bachelor's program in Media Informatics.
The course of study contains 120 ECTS credits.
The standard period of study is four semesters, whereby the 4th semester is reserved for the preparation of the master thesis.
Successful graduates of the Master's program are awarded the academic degree Master of Science (M.Sc.) by the Faculty of Mathematics, Informatics and Statistics.

Academics

A first professional university degree or an equivalent degree from Germany or abroad in Media Informatics, Computer Science or a related subject.

Language Proficiency

The linguistic demands when studying at LMU are high. In order to complete a master's degree program, you will first need to pass a recognized German language test, unless the program in question is English-speaking.
In addition, those applying for a master's degree program via the admission procedure will need to furnish evidence of special aptitude for the program in question

In case of choosing an application subject: Proof of sufficient basic knowledge from the bachelor studies in the chosen application subject. No special proof is required for a Bachelor's degree with the corresponding application subject; the certificate is sufficient.
If applicable, proof of other examination results, further education measures, or practice-relevant activities

Possible employers are multimedia companies, advertising agencies, software houses, telecommunications companies, broadcasting companies and publishing houses, but also training, IT, PR and sales departments of most companies.
The experience of previous graduates has shown that, in addition to these, companies from completely different industrial sectors, such as the automotive industry in its' field of developing operating concepts, are also interested in the typical profile of this training.
