Students acquire a general understanding of biological structures, processes and causal relationships, including the scientific disciplines. Curiosity and enthusiasm for the life sciences and fundamental interest in chemistry, physics and mathematics are required. In order to increase the good career prospects even further, it is advisable to switch to a master's program after completing the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and, if necessary, then do a doctorate. Future fields of work lie in pharmaceutical or biotech companies, in development and scientific research or in the preparation of environmental reports.
