In the master's degree in teacher training in primary and lower secondary education I (MEd), students are able to choose either two teaching subjects from Group A, or one teaching subject from Group A and one from Group B:

  • A: English, German, mathematics, music, Protestant religion, sport, Turkish, or visual arts
  • B: biology, chemistry, French, geography, history, informatics, physics, social sciences, Spanish, or work studies/technology.

Students must already have studied these two subjects during their bachelor’s degree as the master’s program builds on the bachelor’s degree for a type 2 teaching career according to the KMK (Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs).
