• The bachelor's degree in biology teaches the fundamentals of natural sciences in biology and the neighboring sciences of chemistry, physics, and mathematics. 
  • The main focus is on the various sub-areas of biology cell biology and biochemistry, evolution, genetics, and molecular biology, physiology, morphology, systematics, microbiology, developmental biology, and ecology.
  • Especially within the compulsory elective area, students can specialize in biological subjects, and a free elective area also provides insights into what the entire University of Hamburg has to offer. The degree is concluded with the examination module and the bachelor thesis.
