The Master of Development and Governance is a one-year full-time degree program taught in English. The program combines teaching in several political science sub-disciplines (development studies, international relations, peace and conflict studies, administration and policy studies, comparative politics of European Union, Sub-Saharan Africa, or East Asia) with a practice-oriented methodology and an optional internship with a German (development) organization. The main emphasis is on acquiring knowledge of the relevance of different tiers and forms of governance processes, both within industrialized societies and in the Global South, and on training students' analytical skills. The program is thus providing students with both policy and region-specific expertise.
