By studying a master’s degree as part of the ISE study program, the scientific qualification acquired through a previous bachelor’s degree is deepened and expanded in the sense of increasing technical complexity through the expansion of specialist knowledge and the practice of special specialist methods. As part of the consecutive ISE study program, the master’s examination forms a second professional qualification that significantly expands professional perspectives compared to the bachelor’s degree.

The master’s examination determines whether the students have acquired the advanced specialist knowledge, skills, and methods necessary for the transition to professional practice, have an overview of more comprehensive subject-specific contexts and have the ability to analyze engineering problems in the area of the selected course of study and to independently develop and apply scientific methods and findings to describe or solve them. Passing the master’s examination also enables admission to the doctorate and thus enables a scientific career.
