The subject has an interdisciplinary approach, or more precisely: It forms the interface between informatics, electrical engineering, and information technology. Accordingly, the field of study Information Systems Technology (iST) is the result of a cooperation of two departments at the TU Darmstadt – the Department of Informatics and the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology.
