Academic Eligibility:

• A Bachelor (B.Sc.) or comparable degree in one of the following disciplines:
  • Slavic Philology
  • Russian culture
  • related subjects (individual advice recommended)
• Studying German in the Master of Education course follows on from a successfully completed B.A. degree in German studies at the Ruhr University or on equivalent degrees.
• The completion of a one-month school orientation internship as well as a one-month professional internship
• Studies in educational sciences with a scope of 9 CP, in which elements about basic educational, development, and socialization theoretical requirements of school education and school lessons as well as professionalization theories and teacher models.
• Studies in "German for students with an immigrant background" or comparable studies amounting to 6 CP.
• Compulsory counseling in both subjects and in educational sciences in accordance with the subject-specific provisions.

Indian Eligibility:

Indian students are eligible to apply if they meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

• Most of the courses at the RUB are held in German. Students must therefore have sufficient knowledge of German and provide evidence by obtaining one of the following language certificates:
  • TestDaF with at least 16 points within an examination
  • DSH (level 2 or 3)
  • German Language Diploma - DSD - II
  • ZOP or Goethe Certificate C2 from the Goethe Institute
  • KDS or GDS from the Goethe Institute
  • ÖSD language diploma C1
  • telc German C1 Hochschule
  • Assessment test (examination part German)
• Before starting the course, Russian must be mastered and proven at level B2; by the end of the course, level C2 in Russian should be achieved.
• In addition to Russian, the BA course in Russian Culture requires English skills at level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference and knowledge of another foreign language at level B1.

International students hailing from non-English speaking countries can prove English proficiency by giving TOEFL/IELTS/ or any other equivalent proficiency tests.
