This degree program is unique because one can acquire the competence to grasp, understand and assess historical contexts, especially at the RUB, first with the cross-epoch IPS and later with self-chosen focuses based on many specialization options

  • regional focus (e.g. Eastern Europe, North America, Turkey)   
  • systematic focus (e.g. economic history, gender history)   
  • practical elements   
  • History of the Ruhr Area / Social Movements (ISB)   
  • the interdisciplinary and international orientation
