- The BDPEMS is a joint doctoral program of the Humboldt-University (Humboldt-Universit?t zu Berlin, HU), the Free University (Freie Universit?t Berlin, FU), the Technical University (Technische Universit?t Berlin, TU), the Social Science Research Center Berlin (Wissenschaftszentrum Berlin, WZB), and the European School of Management and Technology (ESMT). It aims at outstanding students holding a bachelor's degree or higher. The doctoral degree is awarded by the university of the student's supervisor according to the rules of that specific university.
- From 2019 on, BDPEMS will intensively cooperate with the Graduate Center at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW) within the new Berlin School of Economics (BSE). The BSE PhD program unites the successful BDPEMS & DIW Graduate Center programs and incorporates the best of both in a single career development program. Futhermore, the Berlin Economics Research Associates (BERA), a Berlin-wide Postdoctoral program, will join the BSE.
- The main goal of the program is to train its students in conducting internationally competitive research, to generate a productive research environment, and, in doing so, to provide the basis for a successful career in academia or in other research-oriented professions.
- After graduation our students are looking forward to internationally renowed careers in academia, research departments and businesses across the world.
