AILET Exam Pattern 2024, Marking Scheme, Exam Duration, Total Marks, Negative Marking
No new changes are expected in AILET Exam Pattern 2024 and the paper pattern is expected to remain the same as the previous year. AILET Exam Pattern 2024 is different for each of its programs i.e BA LLB (Hons), LLM, and Ph.D. Law.
- Candidates are advised to practice AILET Previous Year Question Paper for a better understanding of the paper pattern and exam preparation.
- AILET BA LLB and AILET LLM paper carry a weightage of 150 marks. AILET Ph.D. Law paper carries a weightage of 100 marks.
- For incorrect answers 0.25 marks will be deducted.
- AILET BA LLB Syllabus covers topics such as English Comprehension, Logical Aptitude, and General Awareness. Whereas, AILET LLM syllabus covers topics from English Language and Logical Reasoning.

AILET Exam Pattern 2024 for BA LLB (Hons):
- There will be 3 sections in the question paper with a total of 150 MCQs.
- The 3 sections will be
Section A: English Language (50 questions)
Section B: Current Affairs & General Knowledge (30 questions)
Section C: Logical Reasoning (70 questions)
- AILET 2024 will be conducted for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- For each correct answer +1 mark is awarded.
- For each incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.
AILET Exam Pattern 2024 for LL.M One Year Program:
- There will be 2 sections in the question paper for a total of 150 marks.
- The 2 sections will be:
Section A: will have 50 MCQs which will be divided into 2 parts namely:
Part 1: English Language (25 questions for 1 mark each)
Part 2: Legal Reasoning (25 questions for 2 marks each)
Note: Section B will be evaluated for only the eligible candidates i.e the ones who have secured a minimum of 50% marks in each part of Section A.
Section B: Candidates have to answer 2 Descriptive type questions which will amount to a total of 75 marks.
- AILET 2024 will be conducted for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- For each incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted.
AILET Exam Pattern 2024 for Ph.D. Program:
- There will be 2 sections in the question paper for a total of 100 marks.
- There 2 sections will be:
Section A will be based on Legal Knowledge & Legal Reasoning from diversified areas of Law. There will be 50 questions for 1 mark each.
Section B will have 3 questions from which the candidate has to answer only 1. It will be 50 marks question for candidates to present their research design sheet and methodology.
- AILET 2024 will be conducted for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
- For each incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted from Section A.
