₹ 32,600No, Holkar Science College might not be a good option for B.Sc. One of my friends studied there and according to him the college lacked many things.
There was no proper infrastructure, Buildings were neglected of proper care and maintenance. The ambience and the student crowd is not healthy. As most of them do not have any ambition or interest in learning new things. The students are also not competitive enough, which makes them less dedicated towards their studies.
Even the faculties are careless and do not bother much if the student is learning anything or not. They often skip classes which ultimately leads to not completing the syllabus.
No cultural events or extracurricular activities take place here. It is suggested that you look for other options, compare them with it and then finalize.
The required cutoff varies depending on various factors. Generally, you should have a percentage above 90%, if you want to take admission in B.Sc CS at Holkar Science College. If you have above 90%, you can choose your preferred combination of subjects. There are many subject choices.
Holkar Science College is a decent institute. But it may not offer you job opportunities, after the completion of your degree. You will have to seek opportunities on your own. If you have other options, it’s better to consider them.
No, Holkar Science College does not have a girls hostel. They offer hostel facilities only for male students. Some claimed that they used to have a Girls hostel but due to some security reasons and political pressure it was ordered from head office to lock down the girls hostel.
Though there are more girls than boys enrolled here, unfortunately there are no hostel facilities for girls.
The cutoff for a BCA at Holkar Science College is approximately 85-90% in the first list. This will be followed by the second and third lists, if students from the first list do not join the college. The second list the cut off will be around 80% and for the third list it will be around 70-75%. This is for the general category students.
Students who belong to the SC or ST category will have the cut off around 60-65%.
If you wish to do BCA from Holkar Science College then it is suggested that you change your decision. Holkar Science College is not quite good for BCA, as the course started recently and is relatively new. It does not hold much experience. If you want to study here then opt for a B.Sc. than a BCA.
You can apply online through MP UG counselling and put Holkar Science College as your first preference, with your preferred subject combination.
If you pass the cutoff then the following process will be easy but if you cannot make the cut off and want to join Holkar then wait for the publication of the second and third lists.
Most of the students panic when they are unable to get in the first round. But there are many students who later do not get admission there, this makes space for other students belonging in the 2nd and 3rd lists.
So, it does not matter from what list you get admission, as long as you can be a part of Holkar. There are more than three rounds so try waiting, as it will create some vacancies.
Never. Unlike GACC and other government colleges of indore, In Holkar ragging is strictly prohibited. Seniors here mind their own business.
There is no unnecessary restriction. You also have the option to contact the police if anything bad happens.
No institute supports ragging. If you are involved and caught in this act, the college will file an FIR against those students who were involved.
You can share your complaints with the Anti-ragging committee present in the college, who are cooperative and helpful.
All in all, Holkar does not support ragging. Also, you will be very busy with multiple shifts and you will rarely get the time to interact with your seniors.
If you get in touch with the seniors, you will see that they are nothing but helpful.
The choice between Holkar Science and Medicaps University for a B.Sc. in Computer Science is difficult, but it can be made efficiently if your motivation and future plans are clear.
