The minimum duration of the MBA course is two years but students can complete up to four years.
The minimum eligibility is to have done graduation from a recognized board.
Admission to the MBA program is based on qualifying exams like MMS-CET/ GMAT/ NMAT/ SNAP/ CMAT/ CAT/ MAT/ ATMA/ XAT.

SCDL Pune MBA Eligibility Criteria

The candidates should ensure the following eligibility criteria before applying at the Symbiosis centre for distance learning.

Any graduate with 50% marks (45% in case of SC/ST)/undergraduate (final year) can apply for the MBA course.
International candidates should check before applying if their university/college is a govt. recognized one or not.
Candidates must have a valid MMS-CET/ GMAT/ NMAT/ SNAP/ CMAT/ CAT/ MAT/ ATMA/ XAT.

Note: the undergraduate final-year students can get the certificate only if they pass the final year as well.

SCDL Pune MBA Admission Guidelines

The students should go through the prospectus available on the official site before they apply for the course. The diploma program begins in July each year and hence, the students should keep visiting the website to apply for the desired program.

Steps to apply at Symbiosis Center for Distance learning

Visit the official website and download the application form available there. The candidates can also purchase from offline centers.
The application fee (INR 1200) for Indian students, for foreign nationals and SAARC students it is USD 100 or INR 7200 can be paid online or through DD as well in the favor of the institute.
Fill in the details required in the application form.
Attach the necessary documents along with the application form and send it through courier to the institute (in case of the online application, the student can email the application along with the documents (recent passport size photo in JPEG format), Government photo ID proof (JPEG format), self-attested document (10+2 and graduation) in PDF format, name change, if applicable in JPEG format.
Pay the program fee. The student can pay the program fee online as well as DD in the favour of the institute. the student can submit the fee with the specified timeline through the student login.

Note: The international candidates can download the form from the official website, fill the form, and send it through courier along with the required documents such as country and residence proofs.

Ans. The candidates have two options of paying their fee. The students can pay the fee in two installments, the first installment within 15 days of admission and the second installment within 60 days of the payment of the first installment.

In the second method, the students can pay a one-time payment within 30 days of admission.

Both, Amity University Online (DDE) and Symbiosis Centre for Distance Learning (SCDL) are very good institutes for doing distance MBA and you cannot go wrong with either of them. You should keep in mind that SCDL has AICTE approval and not UGC approval while Amity University Online is UGC approved and accredited by NAAC. I have a few friends at Amity University, so I can give you a brief insight into the MBA program offered by the institute. Recognition- It is the only university in India to be awarded the highest quality standard 9001:14001 by the American Quality Standards Registrars (AQSR) of the USA. It is accredited with a grade “A” by National Assessments and Accreditations Council (NAAC). All its courses are approved by the Distance Education Council (DEC). It is also the only university in the country to be accredited by WASQ of the USA. Rankings- It is ranked 33 by QS online MBA ranking for the year 2020. Amity University has been ranked 37 by NIRF in the University category and 41 in the management category for the year 2020. Symbiosis offers a PGDBA degree and ICFAI offers an MBA degree after two years of correspondence course. The fee structure of both the institutes is the same so you should opt for ICFAI as the degree of MBA is more valuable than PGDBA. When it comes to job opportunities, the people with MBA degrees are given priority by the MNC’s. So, from the job point of view, pursuing MBA from ICFAI is more beneficial. ICFAI gives placement to the one opting for distance learning so you need not worry about the placements in ICFAI. Symbiosis is one of the prominently known universities for full-time PGDM whereas, NMIMS is the university best for distance learning PGDM. One of my friends is studying at NMIMS and his overall experience of this college was nice. Symbiosis provides a degree from SCDL and it isn’t recognized by any government board. Whereas, NMIMS is recognized by UGC and NAAC. NMIMS has a proper examination center plus information centers. On the other hand, Symbiosis doesn’t have any information center. NMIMS also provides great help to students with the following. Online lectures with Live recordings. Course books with extra materials to read or reference materials. Books and access to e-resources from Digital libraries. Assignments, Mock Tests, and Model answers. Research databases, eBooks databases, and electronic journals. Hence, NMIMS is a better choice for distance learning than Symbiosis.

IGNOU is better for an MBA compared to Symbiosis distance. The course work is challenging. It’s not easy to clear papers unless you go through the study materials thoroughly. IGNOU MBA is even valid for PhD/Govt. jobs too.
