The Master of Arts Program in Child Study and Education at the Eric Jackman Institute of Child Study is a degree program with elementary teacher certification. Housed in historic McCarthy House, the program admits only 45 students each year who want to pursue a career in teaching elementary school children with graduate training that may lead to a doctoral degree.
The program is truly unique in the world. In addition to combining teacher education and graduate studies, the program offers intensive practicum placements in our on-site Laboratory School as well as in public school settings; the student can also choose to concentrate in the areas of special education and/or early childhood. The distinguished faculty make significant contributions to research in the areas of child development and education and encourage students to participate in their active research projects.

Transcript(s) from each post-secondary institution attended.
Two letters of reference (one academic and one professional).
Résumé provides clear and complete information about the applicant's work or field experience related to their proposed studies.
Statement of Intent which 1) indicates which of the program's four Course Groupings most interests them, and 2) names at least two faculty members whose interests are closest to their own.
