• The Diploma in Power Engineering Technology is a 3-year program at Lambton College.
  • Students will have the opportunity to apply to the Co-operative Education Program.
  • The students learn the main topics of the program including:
    • Operating Engineering Studies
    • Operating Engineering Calculations
    • Chemistry for Power Engineers
    • Operating Engineering Studies
    •  Power Plant Maintenance
    • Piping and Mechanical Systems
    • Refrigeration Theory and Systems
    • Human resources management and business communications.
  • Students must have a GPA of 2.5 or greater to participate in a full-time Co-op work Term.
  • The student to faculty ratio is 57:1 which bridges the gap between faculty and students.
  • In Term 5 students have the option to participate in a co-op work and gain real-world experience.
  • The student will be capable of the following skills by the end of the term include:
    • Familiar with key components of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 
    • Identifying process piping, flanges, fittings, and their uses 
    • Discuss principles of general chemistry applicable to process industries 
    • Describe typical steam boiler configurations 
    • Perform basic steam thermodynamics calculation relevant to power plants 
    • Perform basic maintenance on equipment
