• The Diploma in Instrumentation and Control Engineering Technician - Industrial Automation is a 2-year program at Lambton College.
  • The program gives the necessary training and technical hands-on skills to operate and maintain control systems field instruments that incorporate digital, pneumatic, and hydraulic processes.
  • Instruments are used in the industry to measure and transmit signals to control the quality of products in oil and gas, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, food processing, and manufacturing plants.

  • The student to faculty ratio is 57:1 which bridges the gap between faculty and students.
  • The student will be capable of the following skills by the end of the term include:
    • Select, install, calibrate and troubleshoot equipment used in the measurement and control of process parameters
    • Operate and configure electronic and computer-based controllers to optimize the performance of process control systems.
    • Repair and maintain wireless and wired control system components applying basic electrical, electronic and digital principles to the operating systems and firmware
    • Assist with the installation of a control system as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
    • Develop strategies for ongoing professional development to enhance work performance as an instrumentation and control engineering technician.
