• Diploma degree in Electrical Engineering Technician at Georgian College is offered as 2 years (4 semesters) plus 1 work term program.
  • It is an on-campus program offered on a full-time basis only.
  • In this program, students are provided with the theoretical knowledge and technical skills to enter the electrical workforce.
  • Classroom learning is combined with extensive hands-on experience in well-equipped, modern labs.
  • Students are introduced to power transmission and distribution and robotics as well as maintenance and troubleshooting techniques for industry, with a strong focus on health and safety. 
  • In this program, students have to successfully complete 20 program courses, 2 communications courses, 3 general education courses, and 1 co-op work term.
  • Students are required to complete a co-op and career preparation course scheduled prior to their first co-op work term.
  • Computer-aided drafting, electronic and digital circuits, microprocessors, programming, and programmable logic controllers are also studied in this program. 
  • Students gain valuable experience during a co-op work term while developing industry contacts for possible post-graduation employment opportunities. 
  • This program is accredited by the Canadian Association for Co-operative Education(CAFCE).
  • Students who have graduated from Georgian College’s Electrical Techniques Certificate program (ELTQ) must apply to be admitted with advanced standing.
  • Students, upon admission, must complete a selection of semester 1 and 2 courses to align with program progression.
